The use, storage, and handling of chemicals are essential across manufacturing, processing, laboratories, and warehouses, but poor chemical management can lead to severe consequences such as fires, explosions, toxic exposures, occupational illnesses, environmental damage, and significant legal liabilities. Many incidents occur due to limited awareness of chemical hazards, improper interpretation of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), inadequate storage and segregation practices, and non-compliance with statutory requirements. This Training provides a thorough understanding of chemical hazards, health effects, control measures, emergency preparedness, and regulatory obligations. The program acts as a critical risk-control measure, helping organizations protect employees, ensure compliance, and prevent major incidents involving hazardous substances.

Participants gain in-depth knowledge of chemical hazards, classifications, and routes of exposure, enabling them to recognise risks before they result in harm. The training strengthens the ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets, understand GHS labelling and hazard pictograms, and apply safe handling, storage, segregation, and disposal practices. Participants also develop awareness of health effects, correct selection and use of PPE and respiratory protection, and emergency response actions for spills, fires, and loss of containment. Overall, the program enhances competence, and safe decision-making when working with hazardous chemicals.
